The Duke of Cambridge has shared a sweet tribute to his grandfather, The Duke of Edinburgh, and his father, The Prince of Wales.
Prince William has proved he’s still inspired by his family every day, despite their royal status.
The Duke of Cambridge launched the Earthshot Prize two weeks ago – a new global prize for the environment, designed to encourage change and help to repair our planet over the next ten years – and took the opportunity to reveal where his desire to make change comes from.
William, 30, explained, “I think with the family you get that generational hand on, and I think I’ve really picked up on the fact that my grandfather started caring a long time ago about the natural world, and my father’s spoken a lot and cares about the environment.”
The Duke’s admission comes after he joined David Attenborough – a fellow activist in saving the planet – for an outdoor screening of his feature film, David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet.
The pair have formed a close bond through the Earthshot Prize and their joint passion for environmental changes.
Kensington Royal shared a series of sweet snaps from the meet-up, attended also by Duchess Catherine, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and revealed how The Duke of Cambridge and Sir David are supporting one another.
While William’s father, Prince Charles has always been vocal about the environment, he recently opened up about how having grandchildren gave him a new reason to be concerned about the future of our planet.
The future King said, “We have, I am afraid, reached a defining moment in human history.
“It is a tipping point at which we still have the ability to change course, but really only in the next 10 years.
“It’s a small window, after which there may be no going back.”
“For the past 40 to 50 years I have been driven by an overwhelming desire not to be confronted by my grandchildren – or yours – demanding to know why I didn’t do anything to prevent them being bequeathed a poisoned, destroyed planet.”
