Mentally Healthy Schools is a website offering primary school teachers and staff access to mental health resources and was founded by the Anna Freud Centre, Place2Be and YoungMinds – working in collaboration of the Heads Together campaign.

The programme was first launched back in 2018 and was taken over by The Anna Freud Centre – another of Catherine’s patronages – back in April this year.

The Anna Freud Centre shared the good news on Monday on Twitter, writing, “#MentallyHealthySchools is now UK-wide! Teachers across the UK can find curriculum-specific resources, a resource library filterable by country & relevant guidance on a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing.”

It comes after teachers, pupils and parents have endured months of home-schooling amid the coronavirus pandemic.

During lockdown Catherine, 38, led a virtual assembly using resources from the Mentally Healthy Schools website and addressed the importance of talking about our mental health.

The mum-of-three said, “Talking to someone, whether it’s a friend, family member, or teacher, is something you can do to make yourself feel that little bit better. And you can also play your part in helping others to feel better too, whether offering a friendly ear, or helping someone in need.

“Small acts of kindness can go such a long way. But as we help others, we mustn’t forget to nurture ourselves, by taking the time to focus on the things that make us feel happy too.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry launched the Heads Together campaign back in 2017 in a bid to normalise the conversation around mental health.

It has seen them working in partnership with inspiring charities to change the national conversation on mental health.

    What an inspiration!
